As part of the 2nd Traditional Sustainability Day organized by Kazancı Holding and Aksa Energy, a panel titled “Towards COP31” was held within the framework of the Sustainability Stage program.
 
The panel took place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the İbrahim Deniş Conference Hall at the Kazancı Holding Headquarters. Topics discussed during the event included climate change, sustainable development, corporate sustainability, environmental policies, biodiversity, and nature-based approaches.
The panel featured Ayşegül Yazgan Yücetürk, Deputy Secretary General of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Türkiye; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Ünal, a faculty member at Isparta University of Applied Sciences (IUAS); and Betül Işıklar, Director of Corporate Governance and Sustainability at Kazancı Holding, as speakers. The session was moderated by İlkay Demirdağ, Founder and CEO of Energy Shift Capital and Independent Board Member of Aksa Energy.
During the program, the significance of the global climate agenda in the lead-up to COP31 was evaluated from the perspectives of the business world, academia, and sustainability management. The panel emphasized the importance of sustainable development goals, combating climate change, protecting biodiversity, green transformation, and inter-institutional cooperation.
It was highlighted that the environmental, nature, and wildlife-oriented initiatives carried out between Isparta University of Applied Sciences and Kazancı Holding represent an important example of university–industry collaboration in the field of sustainability.
The participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Ünal, who serves as the Coordinator of the IUAS–Kazancı Holding Environment, Nature, and Wildlife Cooperation Coordinatorship, on behalf of IUAS made a significant contribution to transferring the University's academic expertise in climate, environment, biodiversity, and wildlife studies to sustainability platforms.
The program once again demonstrated the importance of public institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, and academia acting with a shared sense of responsibility in building a sustainable future.
